lilies & sparrows

friends who sing [vol. 2]

Bursts of warmth and light, the ever-sweet Jillian Edwards’ new album Headfirst is out on iTunes today and you, my dear angels, deserve this treat. I could ramble for hours and days about the joy that is the drumbeat and the kindness that is the foundation of this lady.

She is a gem of a person and her new record is just swoonworthy magic. A treat for your ears, a breath of crisp November air for that weary Tuesday soul.

So hurry, scurry over and pick up a copy! Texas readers, she is playing a show with Drew & Ellie Holcomb in Waco on Thursday and having a CD release show in Dallas on Saturday - swing by, be blessed, say hello and hug her neck.

Enjoy!

As an aside, I’m tickled on a daily basis by the talent that floats around and fills Nashville. We’ve got a mighty fine thing going on here.

Blog Love

MorgansterIf life were a musical, she would provide the perfect soundtrack.

Every day Morgan posts a song, a photo and a brief little synopsis of her life, day, thoughts, meals — whatever tickles her fancy at the moment. Then she compiles a glorious mixtape at the end of every month and shares it with her fans for download.

Her taste in music is phenomenal. Think Glee meets B.o.b who kiss The Weepies and high-five Paul McCartney.

Her photography makes magic out of every day life.

And downloading her mixtapes is like Christmas morning.

I don’t know her personally, even though she’s a fellow Athens lover and we have many mutual friends (however, there are rumors of a grand Athens blogger meet and greet. Hooray!), but via Tumblr I’ve decided that we’d be pals.

If anything, I’d rack her brain for music suggestions seeing as after her glorious October creation, she is officially Queen of the Mixtapes.

P.S. Morgan, I think we’re neighbors
